Overseas study is a valuable experience for both faculty and students. We are developing resources to help faculty teach in a way that maximizes student learning using small-group, problem-based activities. These activities can easily be learned by any faculty member who has taught an upper-level cell biology course.

A Sample Cell Biology Activity:
One of the first activities we have students do is to "narrate" a preexisting video. A video that provides an overview of cell function is played without narration. Students work in groups to identify the elements in the video and share these with the class. Then the video with narration is played and compared to the student versions.

Each activity comes with a video to give instructors an idea how the activity will proceed. Here is the corresponding movie for this activity.
